Land degradation, which in turn has damaged soil conditions, has become a major challenge for human life. As a result of soil damage, both occurring due to natural processes and accelerated by various human activities, the potential of the soil has greatly decreased. Land which should be used for the greatest possible prosperity of the people as stated in the 1945 Constitution, and its function in strengthening food security, can no longer function properly. This condition will become more complicated as the population increases and the shadows of climate change get darker. Seeing this condition, of course, an in-depth understanding of land systems, soil systems and the dynamics within them is needed so that a solution can be realized to reduce the level of land degradation and soil damage, as well as to strengthen land and land reclamation efforts to restore and improve their functions.
The Soil Science Masters Study Program with a comprehensive and multidisciplinary learning system, and supported by various facilities and an extensive collaboration network is ready to answer this challenge. We are ready to create experts who are ready to take part in various sectors related to land and land management, which will advance human civilization. Don't hesitate to join us, Masters Program in Soil Science, Department of Soil Science, Faculty of Agriculture, UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta.
